Round Table has organised and taken part in several of Hong Kong's highest profile events over the years, even originating some of them - the Rickshaw Derby and the Hong Kong 24hr Pedal Kart Grand Prix amongst them.

We have also entered teams in the Sedan Chair Race which takes place around the Peak each year, requiring groups of four bearers to make their best pace, whilst transporting a friend in the style colonial types used to enjoy as they left the hustle and bustle of Central to regain the peace and cool of their Peak residences.

In 2009 we competed for the second time in the Four Peaks Race, a combination sailing / running race which takes place over a weekend in early february and requires teams to sail as fast as they can between four of Hong Kong's highest peaks, dispatching teams to run up them, before rejoining the boat to continue to the next mountain, and finally, the finish.

It's not all onerous sport though! the "mile of silver" challenge saw tablers gathering coins from passersby in Sha Tin square, to form a mile-long trail of coins wending its way across the square. We have even pitted ourselves against Hong Kong's formidable weather patterns by attempting to push a block of ice up one of the larger hills in Hong Kong before it melted entirely away.

Mysteriously, history doesn't relate whether the challenge was successfully completed, but it certainly successfully raised money for some very worthy causes!
